What Ingredients Would You Put In A Cake You're Baking From Scratch? πŸŽ‚

Sep 04, 2023

You're baking a cake from scratch!  So fun! πŸ’«βœ¨πŸŒŸπŸŒˆ  What ingredients are you choosing?  You really want it to be yummy so you find the BEST recipe EVER!πŸ’«πŸŒŸβœ¨ You choose the organic ingredients from your well-stocked pantry and you mix all the ingredients in your big pink mixing bowl.   Would you then sprinkle kitty litter into the batter?  πŸ˜³ 🀭

Ewwww! I hope you just cringed.😝 I did even though I am writing this.

This metaphor is fresh outta the box. I made it up yesterday as I was coaching a client who kept going back to SLT:  sloppy lazy thinking that was making her feel awful.  First I was saying that if she were at a huge gorgeous buffet would she purposefully choose a food she doesn't like and pile it up on her plate? "I really can't stand oysters," she is muttering as she puts oyster after oyster on her plate. πŸ˜³ 🀭

This is what you are doing when you think about things that make your heart hurt. πŸ’” You are putting food on your plate that you don't like and then...eating it!  Or in the *brand new!* kitty litter in your cake batter analogy, you're are sprinkling kitty litter into your cake batter!  If you think thoughts that hurt and continue thinking those thoughts, you're keeping your hand on that hot stove and your cake is gonna come out with a little crunch in it...and it's not from sprinkles! πŸ˜

Of course you would never put food on your plate that you dislike and/or sprinkle kitty litter into your cake batter, so why are you thinking that thought?  And, why are you continuing to think that thought?  Why are you keeping your hand on the hot stove?

Give yourself permission to stop the struggle and find a thought that feels a little better.  Lean toward what feels better until it's the momentum that's natural to you. πŸ’–
