One of my coaching clients had mice in her college apartment. The landlord was not dealing with it effectively.  She kept trying and trying to get it resolved.  Calls, emails, meetings…nothing.  It was stressing her out. 

I suggested she stay out of the apartment while her landlord addressed it. Stay with her friend. (Focus elsewhere, away from the contrast.  Turn the other cheek.  Move from Step 1 to Step 3 - List of The 5 Steps of Creation/Manifestation are below). Then I explained that the contrast (Step 1) was showing her what she doesn’t want so she knows what she does want.  That’s always what contrast is showing us.  It is a launching point for growth.  The key is to then pivot and look at and focus on that which we DO want and let go of the need to “fix,” “solve” and “figure out.”  You can’t get there from there.  It is law.  The Law of Attraction.โœจ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ’›  

I asked her to make a list of how she wanted to feel in her apartment.  She came up with these feelings (well, I helped her, just a little๐Ÿ˜‰) : 

safe

snuggly

clean

organized

happy

at ease

satisfied

relief

chill

confident

proud

clear

focused

empowered

 

I suggested she focus on these feelings in the now - where they exist now.  To stay off the subject of the apartment and the mice.  Where does she feel safe and snuggly now?  Where does she feel happy and at ease now?  Where does she feel satisfied and confident now?  Proud?  Focused?  Empowered?  Etc.  

She did exactly what I suggested (so coachable!) while she stayed at her BFF’s.  She effectively and efficiently moved into Step 3.

You know what happened?  The Universe took care of it.  While she slumbered at her BFF’s and felt safe, snuggly, clean, happy, at ease, satisfied, relief, chill, confident, proud, clear, focused and empowered, the Universe said, “Here’s more!” and returned to her those feelings - that energy.  It is law.  No exceptions. Her landlord took care of it lickety split while concurrently her mom bought some things on Amazon which emit a sound that mice don’t like.  Amazon delivered the product within a few hours (wow, go Amazon, how DO they do it?) and boom!  Mice gone.  

This is a wonderful metaphor for how all creation/manifestation works.  

 

5 STEPS:

Step 1. Ask

Step 2. It’s given (not your job)

Step 3. Allow it:  be happy/ease/flow/light about it

Step 4. Be ready to be ready to be ready…get really good at/master Step 3.

Step 5. In contrast and don’t beat yourself up.  Be light about it.

 

So if you’re in the middle of contrast right now, first of all, you didn’t screw up!  Contrast is a part of life.  I coach my clients to live contrast 5% of life instead of the 95% that most are living and/but some contrast is a (wonderful) part of life because it is a circumstance to bring you new awareness. It teaches you what is in your vibration - old vibrations contradicting what you now want.  It is fertilizer for growth - a launching point for growth - and can be a new beginning, a fresh start, a turning point.  

It’s important to not go back and explain how and why you got there.  This keeps you stuck in the energy of the problem (step 1).  Many people spend their whole lives doing this.  I coach to take your attention off the details and give your attention to what makes you feel free.  To focus on something you believe that feels good to think about.  You can’t think your way out of it.  You can’t “get to the bottom of it” as there is no bottom to anything.  My client tried that for quite a while unsuccessfully.  Have you been trying to change or fix something (or someone!) and it isn’t working so you feel stuck and powerless?  This is why.  The key is to deescalate the problem and allow the solution. To relax and allow.


Here are some things you can say to yourself to slow the momentum of contrast/the struggle and to soothe yourself to a better vibration:

 

“I release the past and the future and abide in the ever-present now.”

“I am creating new pathways.”

“Everything is unfolding as it should.  I don’t need to bang this out with action. It’s all right.  It will be all right.”

“I hold my vibration no matter what’s going on around me.”

“This contrast is showing me where I am giving my power away.”

“I have permission to give up the struggle.”

“I can focus on that which feels good.”

“I can think thoughts that feel good.”

“I have the right and ability to relax into this good feeling.”

By saying these things, you are going general and focusing on general well being thereby soothing yourself.  And this will shift your vibration.  When you get specific, things flow faster.  If you are in contrast, you do not want to get specific.  

Remember that your inner being is always guiding you (by how you feel - your emotional guidance system) toward the path of least resistance - not no resistance.  There will always be a bit of resistance!  We’re human!  

But stick with me and together we’ll learn to walk this path with more joy, ease, flow, freedom, excitement, exhilaration - and less contrast and strife.  We’re in this together!
